Desert Camp in Wadi Rum Simulates

AMMAN —AlGhad— International company ‘Freedomes’ and ‘SunCity Camp’ just launched a dome tent camp in Wadi Rum, close to where the 2015 movie “The Martian” was filmed, in a successful attempt to simulate the ‘life on Mars’ experience inside any one of the camp’s 20 geodesic dome structures dotting the desert.

According to ‘Inhabitat’, a weblog devoted to the future of design, innovations in technology, Freedomes said the sandstone and granite rock formations amidst the desert allow tourists to feel as if they’ve travelled to the red planet.

Each dome includes a private bathroom and panoramic window for a sweeping view of the Wadi Rum desert.

While the pricing per night is not yet set, other Freedomes projects feature a price range of USD159-318 per night.
